How to Find Your Monzo Account Number
Your sort code is the same for all Monzo customers (04-00-04). Your account number is unique to you.
To find it in the app:
- Open the Monzo app
- Tap your account name or balance at the top of the home screen
- Tap Account details or the i information icon
- Your sort code and account number are shown — tap to copy either

Setting Up Your Salary to Pay into Monzo
To have your salary paid into Monzo:
- Find your Monzo sort code (04-00-04) and account number in the app
- Log into your employer’s payroll system or contact your payroll team
- Enter sort code: 04-00-04
- Enter your 8-digit Monzo account number
- Your salary will credit on your next pay date
Monzo has a Salary Sorter feature — once your salary arrives, you can automatically split it into Pots (for bills, savings, spending money) with one tap. Salaries paid via BACS typically arrive on your pay date, sometimes early in the morning. Some employers pay 2 working days early, which may mean you see your salary in Monzo before your stated pay date.
Direct Debits with Monzo
Monzo works fully for direct debits. To set one up:
- Give the company your Monzo sort code (04-00-04) and account number
- They will collect on the agreed date automatically
Monzo shows upcoming direct debits in the Payments tab so you can see what’s due and when. You also receive a notification the day before a direct debit is due and when it is collected.
Important: If a direct debit is incorrect or you did not authorise it, you have the right to claim a refund under the Direct Debit Guarantee. Contact Monzo via in-app chat to dispute an incorrect direct debit — they can claim it back immediately in most cases.
Standing Orders
To send a regular fixed payment from Monzo (e.g. rent, a regular transfer to a family member):
- Open the Monzo app
- Go to Payments → Scheduled payments → New payment
- Enter the recipient’s details and set the amount, start date, and frequency

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is needed for some international transfers and European payment platforms. Your Monzo IBAN:

- Your full card number, expiry, and CVV (unless making a purchase)
