Revolut UK — Complete Guide 2026

Revolut ATM Limit UK 2026 — How Much Cash Can You Withdraw?

Revolut's free plan allows £200/month in fee-free ATM withdrawals, then 2% fee. Premium and Metal plans have higher or unlimited limits. Here's what each tier gets and how Revolut compares to Monzo and Starling.

Revolut’s free Standard plan gives you £200 per month in fee-free ATM withdrawals. After that, a 2% fee applies to every withdrawal. This £200 limit covers both UK and overseas withdrawals combined.

If you regularly need more than £200/month from ATMs, you need to upgrade to Revolut Premium (£9.99/month) for unlimited fee-free withdrawals — or consider Starling, which offers unlimited free ATM use at no cost.

Revolut ATM Limits by Plan

Plan Monthly fee Free ATM allowance Fee above limit
Standard £0 £200/month 2%
Plus £3.99 £200/month 2%
Premium £9.99 Unlimited (fair use) None
Metal £15.99 Unlimited (fair use) None
Ultra £45.00 Unlimited (highest limits) None

The £200 free allowance applies to both UK and international withdrawals combined — not £200 UK and £200 abroad separately.

How the 2% Fee Works

Once you exceed £200 in ATM withdrawals within a calendar month, Revolut charges 2% of the withdrawal amount as a fee. For all Revolut charges across plans, see the Revolut Fees guide.

Example: Standard plan customer, mid-month, has already withdrawn £180. They withdraw another £100.

  • £20 of this is within the free allowance (£180 + £20 = £200)
  • £80 is above the free limit
  • Fee = 2% × £80 = £1.60

Revolut notifies you in the app when you are approaching your free limit.

Single Transaction Limits

Beyond the monthly allowance, individual ATM transactions are subject to per-transaction limits. These vary by plan and are visible in the Revolut app under Card → ATM limits. Typical maximum per transaction is around £300–£500, set by either Revolut or the ATM operator.

You can adjust your daily ATM limit in the app (up to the plan maximum) under Card settings.

Foreign ATM Withdrawals

Revolut’s ATM allowance covers both UK and foreign withdrawals within the same monthly limit. For foreign withdrawals:

  • Money is converted at Revolut’s exchange rate — interbank rate on weekdays, interbank + 0.5% at weekends
  • No foreign transaction fee on top of the ATM fee
  • Always withdraw in the local currency — if the ATM offers to charge in pounds (Dynamic Currency Conversion), decline it. DCC rates are significantly worse than Revolut’s rate.

Revolut vs Monzo vs Starling — ATM Comparison

Bank Free ATM monthly limit Fee above limit Foreign ATM
Revolut Standard £200 combined 2% Same £200 combined limit
Revolut Premium Unlimited (fair use) None Same
Monzo Free 1 free UK withdrawal/month 3% £200/month then 3%
Monzo Plus (£5/mo) Unlimited UK None £400/month then 3%
Starling Unlimited UK None Unlimited (fair use)
Chase UK £500/day UK None £500/month then 1.5%

For free-plan users who mostly use UK ATMs: Starling is clearly superior — genuinely unlimited with no fee. Monzo free is awkward (1 free per month). Revolut Standard’s £200/month limit is adequate for light use.

For frequent travellers: Revolut Premium (£9.99/month) with unlimited foreign ATM access competes well with Starling free for heavy travel use — but you are paying £119.88/year for it. Revolut is now a licensed UK bank — see Is Revolut FSCS Protected? for deposit safety details.

  • Regular international traveller: Revolut Premium or Starling (both strong options, different cost models)
  • Using both: Many users hold Revolut for currency exchange and Starling or Chase for everyday UK ATM access
