Housing from Your Council

Your council has a duty to:

  • Help you with accommodation needs
  • Provide a pathway plan that addresses housing
  • Not make you intentionally homeless
  • Offer housing advice and support

Homeless Priority

If you become homeless, you’re automatically in priority need for housing assistance:

  • Under 21: Automatic priority need
  • 21-24: Priority need in most circumstances
  • Your council cannot refuse to assist you
