Free Prescriptions and Dental Care

Getting Your MATEX Certificate

  1. Your midwife or GP issues form FW8
  2. Send it to NHS Business Services Authority
  3. You receive a maternity exemption certificate (MATEX card)
  4. Show the card when collecting prescriptions or visiting the dentist

Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)

Sure Start Maternity Grant
